2012 Chinatown Beautification Day Clean-up
CBD was created in 2003 in response to the Lower East Side trash and health concerns in the aftermath of 9/11. Since 2003, CBD has grown exponentially and youth and community members from all over the city demonstrate civic leadership as well as inspriing reflection and change. Every year, the clean-up day brings together over 300 youth from high schools and colleges. Together, they clean and beautify the streets of Chinatown, raising the community's environmental awareness while showing the community how much they care.
